Range Rover Velar gets price cut

The Velar, the second-cheapest Range Rover, has recently received a significant price reduction and is now available for Rs 87.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Due to this, the SUV is now Rs 6.40 lakh less expensive than when it was last listed for Rs 94.30 lakh. The 2024 Velar, which debuted in India in July of last year, comes with a single top-spec HSE grade that offers both petrol and diesel engines.

Positioned between the Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover Sport, the Velar facelift is offered in a single, fully fitted configuration with both petrol and diesel powertrain options. New pixel LED headlights, modified bumpers and front grille, wrap-around taillamps, a 11.4-inch curved touchscreen infotainment panel with wireless mobile networking, active road noise cancellation, and an air purifier are among the upgrades included in the latest Velar model.

New Price: Rs. 87,90,000 (Ex-Showroom)

The Velar’s revised starting price of Rs. 94.30 lakh (ex-showroom) has been generously reduced by Rs. 6.40 lakh, making it now only Rs. 87,90,000 (ex-showroom). With this change, aficionados of premium cars should be able to purchase a Velar more easily.

Petrol and Diesel Variants Available

There is only one fully outfitted edition of the Velar facelift, with options for a petrol or diesel engine. The Velar, which sits between the Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover Sport, is a luxurious vehicle that blends performance.

The Range Rover Velar is now sleeker than it was before the most recent modification. It received new alloy wheels, a new grille, redesigned daytime driving lights, new Pixel LED headlights, new front and rear bumpers, and updated taillamps from Land Rover. Together with Fuji White and Santorini Black, there are two other hues available: Metallic Varesine Blue and Premium Metallic Zadar Grey.

Range Rover Velar: Interior and Features

The Velar’s interior is contemporary and understated. The 11.4-inch Pivi Pro central information hub from JLR, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, is now included. Windsor leather trim, available in Caraway/Ebony or Deep Garnet/Ebony themes, is used throughout the interior.

A fixed panoramic sunroof, 20-way powered front seats with massage and heating/ventilation functions, driver’s seat memory settings, powered boot opening, multicolor ambient lighting, metal pedals, 360-degree camera, Terrain Response 2 system, electronic air suspension, and more are among the features listed. Other features include an 11-speaker, 400-watt Meridian sound system, active road noise cancellation, an air purifier plus, four-zone temperature control, software updates over-the-air.

Range Rover Velar: Powertrain

There are two 2-liter, 4-cylinder gasoline and diesel engine options. There are no six-cylinder or hybrid Velar vehicles in India. Whereas the diesel engine generates 204 PS and 420 Nm, the petrol engine generates 250 PS and 365 Nm. Power from both engines is sent to all four axles via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The diesel engine can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 9 seconds, according to our road test, and has a claimed top speed of 210 kmph. The petrol engine can reach a maximum speed of 217 kmph in 7.5 seconds.

At this price point, the Range Rover Velar rivals the Mercedes-Benz GLE (Rs 96.4 lakh), BMW X5 (Rs 96 lakh), Porsche Macan (Rs 88.06 lakh) and Jaguar F-Pace (Rs 72.9 lakh).
