Fact-Checking Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

At Seek4s.com, we know that our readers make important decisions — about examinations, admissions, job applications and government schemes — based on the information we publish. This Fact-Checking Policy describes the steps we take to ensure that our content is accurate, reliable and trustworthy.

1. Our Approach to Accuracy

Every article we publish is expected to be factually accurate, clearly sourced and free from misleading claims. Our writers and editors share responsibility for verifying facts before publication. Where something cannot be verified, we either do not publish it or clearly state that it is unconfirmed.

2. Source Hierarchy

We prioritise sources in the following order:

  1. Primary official sources: Official websites, notifications, gazettes, circulars, press releases and PDFs issued by government departments, education boards, universities, examination authorities, Public Service Commissions and other public bodies.
  2. Direct statements: On-record statements from officials, institutions or organisations.
  3. Reputable secondary sources: Established newspapers, news agencies and recognised publications with strong editorial standards.
  4. Expert input: Subject-matter experts, teachers and professionals, where relevant.

We avoid relying on social media forwards, unverified WhatsApp messages, anonymous posts or rumours. When reporting on viral claims, we verify them with official sources before publishing.

3. Our Fact-Checking Process

  • Verify key facts: Dates, deadlines, fees, eligibility criteria, vacancy numbers, names, designations, statistics and figures are cross-checked against the original official document.
  • Check links: Links to official websites and downloads are tested to make sure they point to the correct, genuine source.
  • Cross-reference: Where an official source is not yet available, information is confirmed with at least two independent reliable sources, and the article clearly states that official confirmation is awaited.
  • Quotations: Quotes are checked for accuracy and context, and attributed to the correct person or organisation.
  • Images and documents: We check that images, screenshots and documents are authentic, current and relevant, and that they are not edited or misleading.
  • Editorial review: Articles are reviewed by an editor for accuracy, clarity and fairness before or shortly after publication, with time-sensitive news re-verified after publishing.

4. Citing Sources

Wherever possible, we link to the original official source so that readers can verify the information themselves. For important announcements, we mention the issuing authority and date of the notification within the article.

5. Distinguishing Fact from Opinion

News and informational content is kept factual and neutral. Opinion pieces, analysis, tips and reviews are clearly identifiable as such and are based on facts that have been verified according to this policy.

6. Handling Developing Stories

Some information — such as exam schedules, results or recruitment processes — evolves over time. In such cases, we publish what is officially known, clearly label details that are expected or tentative, and update the article as soon as new official information is released. Updated articles display the date of the latest revision.

7. Use of Technology and AI Tools

We may use digital tools, including AI-assisted tools, to help with research, translation, summarisation or proofreading. However, all facts are verified by a human against reliable sources before publication, and editorial responsibility always rests with our team.

8. When We Get It Wrong

If an error slips through, we correct it promptly and transparently in line with our Corrections Policy. Readers are encouraged to report possible errors to mail@zedoft.in.
