In 2023, the Volvo C40 Recharge was introduced in India at a cost of Rs 61.25 lakh. At a current price of Rs 62.96 lakh, the Swedish automaker offers this electric coupe SUV in a single, fully loaded variant. Prices are ex-showroom, India, for both items. However, dealers are offering discounts of up to Rs 1 lakh on the C40 Recharge made in 2023 in order to clear out the inventory of MY2023 vehicles.
While it has a similar 78 kWh battery pack as the XC40 Recharge, due to its aerodynamic design, it has an improved claimed WLTP range of up to 530 kilometres. For the Indian market, Volvo offers the C40 Recharge in the twin motor guise with an AWD system that develops 403 bhp and 660 Nm of peak torque. The SUV’s claimed 0-100 kmph time is 4.7 seconds, and it’s limited to a top speed of 180 kmph. The C40 Recharge can be fast charged at up to 150 kW, allowing it to juice up from 10 to 80 per cent in 37 minutes.
Exterior Features
Beyond the B-pillar, the roof drops sharply, giving the C40 a distinctive derriere. A sleek split spoiler is added to the roof, and the bootlid also sports a thin secondary spoiler. With the exception of the new alloy wheels and a set of dynamic taillamps, the C40 and XC40 have the same overall design. The attractive stance increases the desirability factor of Volvo’s second electric car in India significantly from a profile perspective. For EV enthusiasts, the XC40 Recharge’s price, performance, and packaging were a welcome surprise. With an added dash of style, the C40 seeks to elevate that.
The features on offer are identical to those of the XC40 Recharge. It offers pixel LED headlights, 19-inch alloys, a 12.3-inch driver display with a 9.0-inch Android-based central infotainment unit, a Harman Kardon sound system, wired Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, and vegan leather upholstery. For safety, it packs Level 3 ADAS features with an auto one-pedal drive system that can also gauge traffic conditions.
Interior Features
You can tell the C40 is familiar with the XC40 Recharge as soon as you step inside. You get the same interior, made entirely of vegan materials and recycled plastic instead of leather. Although it doesn’t feel like leather, the steering cover does. Volvo is investing heavily in the development of these novel materials in order to create a more sustainable future. Numerous Google services are available on the infotainment screen without requiring you to connect your phone; for example, Google Assistant and navigation function better than any native features offered by other manufacturers. Ride and handling of the 2023 Volvo C40 Recharge
