Tata Punch.ev launch in India on January 17

The Punch.ev is Tata’s first model to be based on the new acti.ev architecture.On January 17, Tata Motors will introduce the Tata Punch.ev, its fourth electric vehicle, in India. The company also offers the Tata Nexon.ev, Tata Tigor.ev, and Tata Tiago.ev as additional electric models.

Launch date: According to reports, the Tata Punch EV will make its public debut on January 17 of next week. Others, though, asserted that they will be sold starting in the middle of February.

Booking: Tata Motors has begun accepting reservations for its newest Punch EV. Reservations for the Punch EV start at just Rs 21,000.

Price: According to reports, the ex-showroom price of the Punch EV could range from Rs 12 to Rs 14 lakh.

The Tata Punch EV will be available in a number of colour choices, including red, oxide, seaweek, white, and grey. DC fast charging is also supported by the car. Punch EV and Punch EV Long Range are the two versions of the electric vehicle that are offered. Prospective purchasers have a variety of models to choose from, with options for both sunroof and non-sunroof models, such as Empowered+, Empowered, and Adventure.

Tata Punch.ev: The Exterior

In addition to connected LED DRLs, vertically oriented LED headlamps, skid plates for the bumper and a tough front appearance, the front profile includes a front-mounted charging port, which is located directly in front of the light bar that displays the Tata logo. The 16-inch alloy wheels’ new aero-efficient design and the.ev badging next to the wheel arches give the side profile a slightly different appearance than the ICE version. With X-shaped LED taillamps, punch.ev badging, subtle creases, and that’s about it, the rear profile is identical to that of the ICE. Most notably, front frunk (front boot space) is included.

When you first get inside, the design resembles that of the Nexon.ev, with a new 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster with navigation maps and a free-standing 10.25-inch Harman HD infotainment system. The updated centre console features a jewelled rotary gear shifter dial, an electric parking brake with auto hold, and a new HVAC control panel with toggle switches and haptic feedback resembling the Nexon.ev.

Tata is also offering more options for the infrastructure needed for charging, including a 3.3 kW wallbox charger and a 7.2 kW fast home charger for the Punch EV models. With features like LED headlamps, smart digital DRLs, multi-mode Regen, an electronic stability programme, and six airbags as part of a comprehensive safety package, the Punch EV Smart model is quite the package. On the other hand, the Adventure model includes cruise control, front LED fog lamps, cornering function, a 17.78 cm Harman infotainment system, electronic parking brake with autohold, and a jewelled control knob. There is also a version with an optional sunroof.

With its R16 diamond-cut alloy wheels, air purifier, auto-fold ORVM, 17.78 cm digital cockpit, SOS function, 26.03 Harman infotainment system, dual-tone body colour, and sunroof, the Empowered model is particularly noticeable.An option for a sunroof. With features like ventilated front seats, blind-spot mirrors, leatherette seats, a 360-degree surround-view system, the Arcade.ev App suite, a wireless smartphone charger, and an amazing 26-cm digital cockpit, the Punch EV Empowered+ elevates luxury to a whole new level.

Tata Punch.ev : Price, Rivals, and Battery 

While the EV’s technical specifications are still unknown, we do know that it will come in two trim levels: Standard and Long Range. Its battery pack is anticipated to have a capacity of 25 to 35 kWh and a range of 300 to 500 kilometres. The Long Range version comes with a 7.2 kW charger that supports DC fast charging, while the 3.3 kW AC charger is the other option.

At launch, the Punch.ev will compete with the likes of the Citroen eC3, positioning itself above the Tiago.ev and expected to cost between Rs. 10 and Rs. 13 lakhs.
